Mortimer Farms Mini Sessions

Mortimer Farms has been a favorite destination of mine since I was a kid! Back then (years AND YEARS ago) it was owned by the Young family and called Young’s farm. I have so many childhood memories of driving up north to visit and pick out pumpkins and do all of the fun fall activities.

Now that we live in the Prescott area, we are only 2 miles away from Mortimer Farms in Dewey Arizona. I love that my kids can experience all of the fun I had as a kid and we can share it with our friends and family! Mortimer Farms also has season passes!! If you go more than 4 times a year, it pays for itself and is worth every penny!! You can get more info on the passes HERE. We love going for a couple hours to get the wiggles out or join friends on a beautiful day! It’s usually pretty crowded during festivals and the month of October, but every other time, you can practically have the place to yourself!! The farmers and staff there are really kind and they make killer desserts and sandwiches. You can also find tons of fresh and canned veggies along with some great meals in their fridge and freezer section. I highly recommend the pot pie!! YUM!!!

Last year I had the honor of capturing one of my favorite families at Mortimer Farms and we had the most fun session just exploring and playing around. Since Mortimer Farms is so close to my house, I can do farm mini sessions any time of the year. You just have to pay to get in. I prefer to shoot there on weekdays so we are not shooting with a lot of people around us.

If you are from the West Valley, Mortimer Farms is about 90 minutes aways and well worth the drive. Especially if you have little ones. They will LOVE all of the things to do at the farm and seeing all of the animals. Bring quarters if you want to feed the animals!

I hope to do more farm mini sessions this year. They have sunflower fields in August and the leaves start to fall of the trees in November. They have some of the oldest cottonwoods in the area and they are GORGEOUS!! Plus, if you go in October and November, you can take advantage of the corn maze and fields. It’s so beautiful!!
